Training for Respite & Supported Living Services

This training focuses on elevating interactions between respite workers and individuals with disabilities. It describes the need for and benefits of respite work to the individual, parent, and respite worker. It also includes an introduction to DSPD SAS, support coordinators, fiscal agents, and how to fill out forms to become a SAS employer or employee in Utah. These training modules are intended for respite workers and DSPD Self-Administered Services (SAS) employers who provide Community Support Waiver (CSW) services for individuals with disabilities, but they include principles that are applicable to any respite care setting. The training does not include disability specific information or medical training and is not a certification from the Utah Division of Services for People with Disabilities (DSPD).
